About Us

Rich Leadership is a small, boutique service firm. The decision to work together is undertaken mutually. Our client base is limited—restricted by the constraints of time, the needs of existing clients and ultimately determined by whether we can together create an effective, results-oriented relationship.

Clients range in size from Fortune 10 companies to small, family-owned businesses and include Financial Services, Media and Publishing, Consumer Packaged Goods, E-Commerce, Information Services, Professional Services, Telecommunications, Fashion, Manufacturing and Food Services companies.

About Gary S. Rich

Gary Rich

Gary Rich, the founder of Rich Leadership, works with senior executives to improve their individual performance and the performance of the businesses they manage. His background uniquely combines hands-on experience in General Management, Human Resources Management and extensive academic work in Organizational Psychology and Human Behavior.

Prior to Rich Leadership, Rich was Chief Executive Officer of QSP, a subsidiary of The Reader’s Digest Association, Inc., where he was responsible for the company’s schools and youth fundraising business in the U.S. and Canada. He managed over 1,000 employees including a field sales force of 700.

Prior to his operating role, Rich held Chief Human Resource Officer positions at Readers Digest, ACNielsen, and American Express. At American Express, he concluded his 11 year tenure as Senior Vice President, Human Resources, for American Express Europe, the Middle East and Africa, a $1.5 billion business with 16,000 employees in 26 countries. Rich was located in Europe for four years during that business’s pivotal turnaround.

Rich holds a masters degree from Columbia University in Organizational Psychology. He is a National Trustee of the Boys and Girls Club of America and a member of the Board of Trustees for the Northern Westchester Hospital Center, where he also serves as head of its Compensation Committee.

Glenn Kaufman

With over 25 years of global human resource experience, Glenn has helped numerous organizations and thousands of individuals attain business performance goals.

At LexisNexis, a $4B global legal information services company, Glenn was Senior Vice President of Global Organization Planning & Development, and also served as the Head of HR for the Asia region. During a 15-year career as an HR executive at American Express, Glenn started their Organization Effectiveness function, and also ran Global Human Resources Development.

Additionally, Glenn was an independent consultant where he partnered with TMC, the premier provider of cross-cultural training and consulting, working on assignments that served companies such as GE, Pfizer, BP, and Air Products. He also worked with The Children’s Place on their acquisition of The Disney Stores, and in creating sales and management development programs.

He did his graduate studies at Antioch and Columbia Universities.

Francoise Hanonik

Francoise Hanonik

Francoise is a Senior Partner at Rich Leadership responsible for all business development efforts across the firm’s disciplines.

Recognized for being a creative senior Human Resources executive, Francoise has successfully been able to “get the job done” during her 20 years of extensive HR experience both in domestic and international environments.

Most recently, Francoise was the CHRO at Nixon Peabody, a global law firm where she led changes in talent management and leadership development.

Prior to Nixon Peabody Francoise worked at American Express, ACNielsen, Campbell Soup and Reader’s Digest.

At American Express and ACNielsen she worked as Vice-President Human Resources. She was responsible for change and talent management for employees globally.

At Campbell Soup her focus on talent growth allowed the company to accelerate its expansion in emerging markets.

As CHRO of The Reader’s Digest Company, she improved talent, organizational effectiveness, and leadership development.

Originally from France, now based in New York, Francoise has a Law degree from Sorbonne University in Paris. She began her career as an attorney.
